INFO:
A woman who was raped by a work colleague almost twelve years ago has criticised the length of time it has taken his appeal against his sentence to be heard. Ciara Mangan was raped by 30-year-old Shane Noonan of Turlough Road in Castlebar at a party in May 2013. They were both 18 at the time and working together in a fast food restaurant in Castlebar. He pleaded guilty shortly before his trial was due to start in 2023 and was sentenced to eight years with the final year suspended. The Appeal Court upheld that sentence. Speaking outside court, Ms Mangan said “my healing has been on hold. I’m not allowed to heal until this is over”. Link in bio to read more📲
